What we do

Pina Earth enables forest owners to access carbon markets the easy way. We build software that automatically assesses forests and simulates future development to quantify carbon stock changes over time. Forest owners can store additional carbon by adopting sustainable forest management practices. Each additional ton of carbon stored generates a carbon credit. By investing in forest carbon projects, companies contribute to climate protection. Through the sale of carbon credits, forest owners benefit from a recurring income reinvested to create diverse, climate-resilient forests.

About the opportunity

As a Founder’s Associate you think and act like a founder yourself. As one of the first full-time team members, we’re setting the foundation for the success of Pina together. You work directly with Pina’s founders – in particular our CEO Gesa. The role gives you a comprehensive insight into diverse areas of our startup—from HR to Operations, Business Development/Sales and Fundraising. One of your first key areas of responsibility will be people and operations, enabling you to shape central processes, be the glue in our core team, and set up our organization for scaling. As our startup grows, your responsibilities can evolve to include other areas or shift in focus to build on your strengths. Here’s your chance to be part of a visionary journey and shape the future of European forests together.

Your responsibilities
  • You think and act like a founder: You will get responsibility from day one for a variety of operational and strategic initiatives. You act as an in-house consultant and work directly with the founders to uncover needs and bottlenecks. All projects will have a critical impact on our company and directly relate to our mission of creating a climate-resilient forest.
  • Enable team growth: Establish the Pina brand to attract talent, defining staffing needs with the founders, and managing the candidate lifecycle from first interview to onboarding. Reflect our mission and get people excited to join Pina.
  • Own our operations: In charge of our operations (finance, legal, HR, office) and make our office a place people love to work. Improve efficiency and quality of operations by implementing new tools or automating tasks.
  • Establish our company culture: Plan team events to maintain team spirit, own strategic initiatives to increase employee engagement and diversity, and run retrospectives to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
What you need to succeed
  • You love a fast-paced environment with many projects and can prioritize tasks yourself.
  • You are a quick learner, pragmatic and creative in solving problems.
  • You are a great communicator, optimistic and team-oriented.
  • You are fluent in German and English.
  • You have a valid working permit in Germany (or the EU).
  • You would like to work onsite in our office in Munich, Germany (Stachus).
