The HDS-LEE | Helmholtz School for Data Science in Life, Earth and Energy offers
exciting PhD opportunities for early-career researchers aiming to tackle real-world challenges at the interface of data science and life sciences, earth sciences, and energy systems. As part of the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA), HDS-LEE provides a structured, interdisciplinary doctoral program with excellent supervision, training, and networking opportunities.
- Interdisciplinary PhD projects with tandem partners across institutions
- Employment at Forschungszentrum Jülich, in close cooperation with RWTH Aachen University, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., or the University of Cologne
- Cutting-edge data science training, international networking, and access to outstanding research infrastructure
- A Masters degree with a strong academic background in
mathematics, computer science and earth science/engineering, or a related field - Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Matlab, R, C++, Julia, …)
