Wardrobe Technician –ALIZÉ – Resident Shows

Full-Time position

We are looking for a Wardrobe Technician whose role, as a part of the Wardrobe team, will be to ensure costume elements are well maintained and the smooth running of shows. Under the leadership of the HOD of Wardrobe, all team members are expected to support the show and their co-workers in a positive and professional manner. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members.

The Wardrobe Technician will have the opportunity to:

1. Work show tracks which include but are not limited to: dressing, cleaning, laundering, repair/maintenance of costumes, headpieces and accessories, pre-show costume check and pre-set and running show tracks, nightly show laundry and closing procedures;
2. Launder, repair and maintain costume pieces and accessories using the professional tools and machinery provided; Document maintenance practices and repair notes, as needed;
3. Ensure all costumes, shoes, headpieces and accessories are show ready and available for pre-set on a nightly show basis; Inspect all costumes and tag for repair work needed; communicate effectively with the department Lead to report and document repair work;
4. Dress show and work closely with the artists to insure a smooth nightly operation for the run of shows; Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation and trainings, as directed;
5. Assist with costume construction and fittings as needed;
6. Attend Artist trainings and show staging sessions, when needed;
7. Assist with the inventory, ordering and tracking of the department's supplies and equipment and report to the department HOD when needed;
8. Participate in special projects, such as maintenance or construction projects and assisting in PR events that include Costume elements or other needs that may fall within the department’s specialty, as directed; Maintain flexible schedule for such projects;
9. Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time;
10. Help with organization and cleanliness of the workspace;
11. Maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures;
12. Adhere to and actively promote all applicable German occupational safety and health regulations, including DGUV standards, the Arbeitsschutzgesetz (ArbSchG), and industry-specific guidelines, to ensure the safe operation of all technical and performance-related elements of the production; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
13. Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
14. Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

1. At least two years of previous experience as a professional Wardrobe Technician, including Show Dressing and laundry for a large-scale production show;
2. Previous experience as a Stitcher, including experience in costume construction, repairs and maintenance for a large-scale production show;
3. Working knowledge of shoe repair, painting, makeup, theatrical wigs and millinery;
4. Previous experience working with home/commercial sewing machines and specialty machines;
5. Previous experience working in a multicultural group environment is a plus; Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts;
6. Professional appearance and demeanor;
7. High School diploma or GED completion;
8. Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
9. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; 50lbs, unassisted, operating mechanized equipment; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. 10. Fluent in English, both written and spoken; with an international cast the operational language will be English;
