Overview

Frankfurt International School in Oberursel is seeking an engaged and qualified Tentative Elementary School Student Learning Coach (part-time, 55%) effective 13 October 2025 until 30 June 2025 at the latest.

The position is connected to the learning needs of specific student(s) and may end if the student(s) moves on from the program or departs.

Responsibilities
  • To provide supplementary support to students so they can achieve at their highest possible level.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support and classroom teachers to support student learning.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Assist students requiring supplementary instruction in any curricular area.
  • Reinforce behavioral expectations within the classroom and school in general.
  • Attend meetings to plan for the needs of the student(s) as requested.
  • Comply with any reasonable request made by the principal.
  • Communicate with teachers when necessary to request work, study guides or materials for students.
  • Continue communicating with teachers throughout the school year.
  • Work with students on identified needs such as reading strategies, organization, self-advocacy and study skills.
  • Collaborate with counselors, learning support staff and faculty on strategies that support students.
General Expectations

The Student Learning Coach works with students who need additional support academically. The role includes collaboration with the student’s classroom teacher, learning support teacher, counselor and other adults to support the child’s learning. The role could include an individual student or small groups who have a variety of learning differences that make learning more challenging for them. The purpose of the Student Learning Coach is to support students in improving the necessary skills and tools to be independent and successful.

  • Demonstrate patience, positive communication skills and the ability to tailor their teaching methods to meet the needs of their students.
  • Conduct him/herself in a professional way, when dealing with colleagues, parents and students at all times.
  • Support the school’s philosophy and general educational principles.
  • Report pertinent information about students to the appropriate teacher, administrator, parents/guardians.
