Summary: The Tax Senior is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance work

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, due to the scope of responsibilities this position may direct the work of others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Review and/or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals.
  • Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
  • Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
  • Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.
  • Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
  • Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
  • Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.
  • Research federal, state and local tax issues
  • Responsible for the mentoring of staff
  • Qualifications:

  • 4-Year accounting degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be a “Team Player”
  • Ability to handle pressure.
  • Handle directions with minimal supervision
  • 3-4 years experience in the preparation of tax returns
  • Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations
  • Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
