AWS is introducing the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) within AWS Utility Computing (UC). We are seeking experienced systems engineers with a strong background in cloud operations to join the AWS Managed Operations team and help build and lead operations and development teams delivering high-availability AWS services for EU customers (EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, Bedrock).

European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) is part of AWS Utility Computing (UC). UC provides innovations—from foundational services such as S3 and EC2 to ongoing product innovations. Managed Operations engineers engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for cloud services.
You will operate and improve one of the largest software systems. Weekly you review operational health, write actionable bug reports, follow a change management process before production changes, help resolve backlogs of operational issues, and share scripts that help with root-cause analysis.
You will be required to occasionally participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents out of hours.
