What\'s Exciting About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Software Development Engineer who will form an integral part of our European team responsible for developing leading payment and service solutions for the German market. You will design and develop software on our POS terminals which meet our exacting quality standards. You will be involved in projects from the very start, requiring you to gather requirements and to design and implement complex software using the latest technologies. As an excellent collaborator you will work closely with your fellow developers as well as key technical accounts, project managers, QA teams and customers where applicable.

We offer hybrid working model, with a minimum of 3 days working in one of our offices: Bad Hersfeld (Preferred) or Munich.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with engineers, technical key accounts and product managers you will understand the product requirements and develop detailed designs for software projects
• You will provide accurate and realistic time estimates for all aspects of software development
• Create detailed interface documentation to facilitate integration with other components
• You will deliver software projects within estimated timelines with high quality
• Conduct functional component testing on developed components prior to submission to quality process
• You will be expected to participate in peer and security reviews of team members software projects
• Develop a detailed understanding of Verifone security products
• Build relationships and connections with team members and negotiate substantive solutions wherever appropriate

Skills And Experience We Desire

• Educated to Bachelor\'s Degree level, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
• Excellent demonstrable experience of Software Development in C/C++, Java is a plus
• Excellent understanding of how code management and defect tracking tools such as GIT/JIRA are used
• Experience working with platform and frameworks preferred.
• Detail oriented and deadline driven with strong analytical skills you will have a real desire to work in a technology driven environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good knowledge of English (Written and Verbal), plus good knowledge of German (Written and Verbal) as many specifications and requirements are only available in German
• Experience of Symmetric or Asymmetric key cryptography as well as Linux/Embedded Linux/Android is a real plus, as would be experience of the payments industry, but this is not essential
