A leading global manufacturer of electronic components in Lampertheim is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer for the design and technology development of high-voltage silicon power devices. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and have over 3 years of experience in power semiconductor design, specifically IGBTs and MOSFETs, and will be proficient in TCAD simulations. As a Senior R&D Engineer (f/m/d) MOSFET & IGBT you will be responsible for the design and technology development of the next generation of high-voltage silicon power devices up to production maturity. You will report directly to the Technology Development Manager in Lampertheim.
Design and technology development of the next generation high voltage silicon power devices.
Generate new ideas of device structures and manufacturing process, evaluate them by analysis of design of the experiments
Work with wafer foundry partners to reach production maturity of the new designs and processes
Work with the assembly team to ensure long-term reliability in different package formats, requiring chip- and package-level failure analyses and diagnostics
Other duties that may arise in the course of employment
Successfully completed doctorate (PhD) in a technical field, preferably in a semiconductor-oriented course
More than 3 years of experience in design of power semiconductors, preferably IGBTs and MOSFETs
First-hand knowledge and experience of IGBT and MOSFET processes and device layout
Experience in TCAD simulations, testing and characterization, semiconductor packaging would be a plus
Fluent English and ability to work independently in a cross-cultural working environment
Very good analytical and numerical skills
