Senior Product Engineer (Frontend)

We’re hiring a Senior Product Engineer (Frontend) to design and build intuitive, scalable interfaces for the deepset AI Platform. You’ll own features end‑to‑end, create reusable components, and evolve our design system to support real‑world, complex workflows. You’ll champion frontend best practices and collaborate with Product Design and Backend teams to shape how developers and enterprises interact with our platform.

What you will do

• Design and build a scalable AI platform that helps users solve real business problems with LLMs.
• Develop infrastructure to support thousands of LLM applications, processing millions of documents and handling hundreds of user requests per second.
• Own backend features end to end from architecture and CI/CD to testing, monitoring and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the Open Source team to improve and contribute to Haystack.
• Partner with the infrastructure team on performance, observability and debugging.
• Help resolve high‑priority production issues with customer‑facing impact.
• Improve reliability by maintaining strong debugging tools and processes.
• Mentor other engineers and support their technical growth.

Requirements

• 5 years as a Frontend Engineer ideally in fast‑paced or startup environments.
• Strong grasp of frontend architecture, performance and debugging techniques.
• Proficient in JavaScript and modern frameworks. Our stack: TypeScript, React, Redux, Sass.
• Experienced with writing and maintaining tests.
• Proactive, collaborative and comfortable taking ownership.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python and backend systems.
• Previous experience building software for enterprise customers.
• Background or interest in NLP/LLM technologies.
• Experience contributing to or evolving design systems.
• Open‑source experience is a plus.
