With over 650 employees, the Lear headquarters in Oberding-Schwaig is the centre of excellence for automotive seat development in Europe. Our headquarters are located in the immediate vicinity of Munich Airport, offering excellent conditions for international cooperation. Central functions such as purchasing, finance, legal, and human resources are also located here.

As a member of the TCS program and sales team, the senior account manager VW Group will act as the commercial account owner for all Lear TCS/IGB products with OEM and linked brands in the European market.

Summary of Position

The senior account manager VW Group is responsible for business and relationship development between the assigned OEM(s) in Europe and Lear TCS/IGB. The primary goal is to grow Lear TCS’s role, revenue, and profit with the OEM(s). The senior account manager VW Group takes full ownership of all aspects of the business with this OEM(s) and represents ‘the face to the customer’.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Main contact for all OEM business in Europe, responsible for all commercial aspects including revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer relationships.
  2. Developing and implementing an account strategy to meet financial commitments and secure new revenue opportunities.
  3. Building financial plans and long-range revenue plans.
  4. Building and developing relationships with key customer purchasing and engineering leaders and extending the network within OEMs in Europe through regular meetings.
  5. Creating a strategy proposal for the upcoming year based on the OEM(s) in Europe in collaboration with the Sales Manager VW.
  6. Creating and managing documentation to ensure transparency and structure in managing the account.
  7. Managing the RFQ phase following Lear processes.
  8. Setting up commercial documentation such as quotations, project reviews, and cost breakdowns following LPMP/ProFile/LearPro processes.
  9. Overseeing the economic aspects of the business, including budget, turnover, and contribution.
  10. Initiating marketing activities to enhance Lear TCS’s market position.
  11. Developing new business opportunities for new products.
  12. Supporting and communicating detailed project plans and schedules.
  13. Managing project scope, expectations, communication, change management, budget, issue escalation, and overall project understanding.
  14. Overseeing project budgets, forecasts, invoicing, efforts, and financials.
  15. Maintaining project data in relevant systems.
  16. Reporting on project progress and conducting Gateway Reviews.

Your Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field.
  2. At least 4-5 years of commercial or program experience in the automotive industry, preferably with VW Group or related brands.
  3. Understanding of cost drivers, financial analysis, and budgeting, with a proven ability to meet financial targets.
  4. Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into actions.
  5. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to motivate teams and build relationships.
  6. Fluency in German and English.
  7. Strong analytical skills and numerical proficiency.
  8. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
  9. Strong negotiation skills.
  10. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  11. Experience with Volkswagen Group and/or related brands is highly desirable.
  12. Hands-on team player capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
