A leading technical university in Hamburg is seeking a Research Associate to join the Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering. This role involves cultivating cellular production hosts and analyzing cell physiology. Applicants should have a background in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or Biology, along with practical experience in cell culture processes. The position offers a friendly work environment and the possibility of mobile working.
Research Associate (m/f/d) / Wissenschaftliche_r Mitarbeiter_in (m/w/d). Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering. Remuneration: EG 13 TV-L. Start of employment: January 1st 2026. Application deadline: October 1st 2025. Scope: full time, fixed term until December 31st 2028. The Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering deals with knowledge-based scaling of bioprocesses and multi-scale bioprocess characterization, as well as the development of robust bioprocesses with microorganisms and in cell culture applications. Another focus is the investigation of single cell physiology and population heterogeneities in bioprocesses using multiple reporter strains. In the course of the advertised Ph.D. position, multicellularity effects induced during recombinant protein production in bioprocesses of different industrially relevant production hosts will be investigated.
