We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee a team of direct buyers across three key commodities: Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE), Mechanical, and Optics and Photonics. This role is essential for optimizing our procurement strategies, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate closely with the Logistics and Warehouse Manager and the Production Planning Manager to align purchasing activities with operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of direct and indirect buyers, providing guidance and support in their procurement activities to drive performance and professional growth.
• Commodity Management: Oversee sourcing and purchasing activities for EEE, Mechanical, and Optics and Photonics commodities, ensuring alignment with company strategies and objectives.
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements that enhance value and minimize risk.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Logistics and Warehouse Manager and Production Planning Manager to ensure seamless integration of purchasing activities with supply‑chain operations.
• Performance Metrics: Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to purchasing activities, ensuring continuous improvement in procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
• Market Analysis: Conduct regular market assessments to stay informed on trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities, providing strategic recommendations to the Director of Supply Chain Management.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, mitigating risks associated with procurement activities.
• Budget Management: Collaborate with finance to manage and optimize the purchasing budget, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

What you bring with you

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing management, preferably in a technical or aerospace environment.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Strong knowledge of commodity markets, sourcing strategies, and supplier negotiation.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on data‑driven decision‑making.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for supplier visits, audits and escalations.
