Stenon offers the world’s first real-time soil analysis solution for agriculture. Position


We are seeking a versatile and experienced Head of Data Science to lead and expand our existing soil nutrient machine learning models and develop new data-driven features. These efforts will support our customers in making better agronomic decisions for their fields using real-time soil data. You will report directly to the CTO.


Tasks


  • Lead the Data Science team

  • Be responsible for a core pillar of Stenon’s products

  • Scale our soil nutrient modeling to support more regions worldwide

  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of Data Science projects

  • Collaborate across functions with Product, Commercial, and Engineering teams as part of the leadership team

  • Own the Data Science strategy, vision, and roadmap, enhancing Stenon’s agronomy intelligence layer with additional features and data sources


Requirements


  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science products

  • Experience managing and mentoring teams

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or Science

  • Proven track record of managing complex projects from start to finish

  • Exceptional understanding of statistical concepts

  • Experience with geo-spatial and/or sensor data processing is a plus

  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining Python code and managing the full ML lifecycle, including libraries like scikit-learn, PyTorch, and ML-Ops tools such as MLflow and DVC

  • Strong focus on data and code quality, with the ability to uphold high standards

  • Experience working directly with internal stakeholders (Product, Commercial, Engineering)

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
