INTRODUCTION

We are looking for a motivated and creative mid-level Full-stack Software Engineer to join one of our Content and Publishing teams. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and maintaining both backend and front-end systems that enhance our content publishing platform. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to innovate and contribute to several AI-powered projects. If you enjoy collaborating across teams, solving real-world challenges with modern technologies, and continuously learning in a supportive environment, this is the ideal role for you.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain our backend and front-end services, focusing on the content publishing pipeline of our application
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Content Operations teams, fostering transparent, proactive, and solution-oriented communication
• Enhance our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines / GitHub Actions) and infrastructure configuration (IAC, infrastructure-as-code)
• Monitor system performance and stability, ensuring high standards for efficiency, security, and maintainability across all services
• Stay curious and contribute new ideas to improve how we build, deliver, and maintain our applications

Your Profile

• You have solid experience developing and maintaining both backend and frontend services, with strong skills in Java (Spring Boot, Spring AI) on the backend and TypeScript (React) on the frontend
• You have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
• You can design database schemas
• You are familiar with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as a Code (eg. Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CloudFormation)
• You care about system performance, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
• You actively monitor and improve production systems
• You are curious and innovative, eager to contribute new ideas and continuously improve how applications are built, delivered, and operated
• You have a team player attitude and communicate clearly and proactively to find pragmatic solutions
• You can effectively collaborate with people working in across different areas, be it Engineering, Product or Content Operations teams
• Bonus points if you have experience with workflow or process management systems (e.g. BPMN-based tools) and using Python for automation or AI-related tasks
• Fluent communication skills in English; (German is NOT required!)
