Your role
  • Develop a doctoral thesis in Geography under the supervision of Prof. Geoffrey Caruso within the framework of the CORJOLIS Project
  • Collaborate actively with an interdisciplinary PhD committee composed of physicist/geographer Prof. Rémi Lemoy and urban economist Prof. Pierre Picard and projects partners, including urban economist Dir. Goffette Nagot
  • Produce high‑quality research articles together with researchers involved in the project
  • Assist the supervisor and project partners with day‑to‑day management, the organisation of research activities and the preparation of geographic data
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring Master students
  • The doctoral candidate will be a member of the Department of Geography and Spatial Planning (https://dgeo.uni.lu) and participate to its activities
Your profile
  • Master's degree in human geography, spatial economics, or a quantitative social science field. Alternatively, a Master's degree in physics, mathematics, or a related discipline with demonstrated interest and experience in socio‑economic or urban issues
  • Strong understanding of contemporary concepts in urban geography or urban economics
  • Solid data‑management, analytical, and econometric skills, especially using spatial packages and GIS
