Culture Moves Europe: Call for Residency Hosts 2025–2026

Culture Moves Europe is the mobility scheme funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. The call for residency hosts provides financial support to legal entities wishing to host artists and cultural professionals for a residency project. The residency should host between 1 and 5 residents and it should follow two of these objectives: to learn, to create, to explore, to connect, or to transform.

This call has two phases: Phase 1: Submission of the application describing the residency project, together with the required supporting documents about the legal entity; Phase 2: If selected in Phase 1, applicants can proceed to choose the artists and cultural professionals who will be their residents. And then complete the second and final part of the application.

Residencies have 1 year to carry out the residency between 8 June 2026 and 7 June 2027. The residency duration can range between 21 and 90 days.

Legal entities can apply that:

• are registered and based in one of the Creative Europe countries, including the overseas countries and territories and outermost regions
• have the capacity to host the proposed residency project with artists and cultural professionals from other Creative Europe countries
• regardless of being a newly or well-established entity, applicants must be active in one of the eligible sectors: architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion design, literature, music, performing arts, and visual arts

Support for the host:

• Hosting allowance: 50 EUR per day, per resident.

Support for the resident:

• Daily allowance: 30 EUR per day, per resident.
• Travel allowance: 400 EUR > for travel distances under 5000 km; 800 EUR > for travel distances from 5000 km.

Additional support:

• Top-ups (for residents, if applicable): Green mobility top-up: 400 EUR; Overseas countries and territories / Outermost regions top-up: 175 EUR; Family top-up: 200 EUR per child; Visa top-up: 120 EUR
• Accessibility support (for hosts and residents, if applicable): A fixed amount of 375 EUR, 675 EUR or 1,200 EUR, based on the duration of the project; Financial support for personal assistance or sign language interpretation; The possibility to request air travel for distances below 600 km
