A leading technology services firm seeks a Mainframe Software Developer for its Halifax location. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, responsible for developing and maintaining critical mainframe applications. Responsibilities include collaborating with analysts, executing test plans, participating in code reviews, and resolving application issues. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of mainframe applications. Remote work options may apply based on client needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of writing, testing, and debugging COBOL programs.
- 5+ years of developing and maintaining JCL scripts for batch processing.
- 5+ years of designing, developing, and maintaining DB2 databases.
- 5+ years of maintaining CICS transaction programs for online access.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with analysts and project managers to gather requirements.
- Create and execute test plans for application functionality.
- Participate in code reviews for quality assurance.
- Resolve application issues efficiently.
