Job summary
A construction and project management company located in Strathmore, Alberta, is looking for a skilled individual to prepare labor and material cost estimates. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school graduation certificate, knowledge of AutoCAD, and experience in project coordination for commercial or residential construction. This position requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in project coordination within commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Experience with residential construction is a plus.
- Knowledge of CADD and other computer software systems is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates of labor and material costs.
- Communicate with engineers and contractors regarding cost estimates.
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems
- Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
- Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD
