As a Managing Consultant, you’ll operate at the intersection of sustainability, corporate strategy, and community development. You’ll lead high-profile projects that support resource development, reconciliation, and corporate sustainability initiatives—helping clients navigate complexity and deliver on their commitments to people and the planet.

• Strategic Leadership: Drive projects that shape sustainability strategies, governance frameworks, and community engagement programs.

• Client Partnership: Build trusted relationships with companies, Indigenous organizations, and governments to deliver solutions that matter.

• Market Growth: Contribute to ERM’s commercial success by identifying opportunities, leading proposals, and advancing thought leadership.

• Cultural Influence: Support ERM’s values and ERM Canada’s Reconciliation Strategy while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

• Master’s degree in sustainability, business management, community development, natural resource governance, or Indigenous studies.

• 4+ years of consulting experience delivering strategic advisory services (e.g., strategy, policy, corporate sustainability, engagement, organizational effectiveness).

• 4+ years of relevant work experience in northern Canada.

• Exceptional writing skills for diverse audiences (communities, executives, etc.).

• Deep knowledge of sustainable community development, modern treaties, natural resource governance, socio-economic development, and northern co-management regimes.

• Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

• 5+ years of consulting experience delivering strategic advisory services (e.g., strategy, policy, corporate sustainability, engagement, organizational effectiveness).

• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects across geographies and service lines.

• Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in dynamic environments.

• Lead and manage all aspects of project delivery—scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

• Develop sustainability strategies, materiality assessments, and reporting aligned with recognized standards.

• Build and maintain internal and external networks to drive business growth.

• Contribute to ERM’s culture by mentoring team members and supporting reconciliation initiatives.

For the Managing Consultant, Sustainability position, the anticipated annual base pay is $95,564–$116,400 (CAD) . Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).

Bonuses, commissions, and other forms of additional compensation are not guaranteed and subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures.
