The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position :
Our Mission Statement : To promote the renewal and development of Métis culture through research, materials development, collection and distribution of those materials, and the design, development and delivery of Métis‑specific educational programs and services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), the Director of GDI Training and Employment (GDITE) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all GDITE initiatives delivered across Saskatchewan’s twelve (12) Métis Nation–Saskatchewan regions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : ensuring effective delivery of programs under the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ISETS), the Métis Nation University Program (MNU), and any supplemental and / or successor agreements; collaboratively manage the overall human resources of the division, including the supervision of senior administrative and regional staff; preparing budgets, financial, and compliance reports as required by GDI and funding partners; developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and services that advance both short‑and long‑term goals of GDI and Métis clients; liaising and maintaining relationships with federal, provincial, and Métis Nation governments, funding agencies, and community stakeholders; ensuring operations, staffing, marketing, and administrative functions support and align with GDI’s mission and Métis client success; and working collaboratively with the GDI Board and senior management team to support the Institute’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. The Director may also be assigned additional duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position by the CEO of GDI.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in a relevant area of study. Applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s program may also be considered. Must have several years of related and successful experience in the career and employment services sector, previous experience in a senior management role, 3‑5 years of supervisory experience, demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff, other GDI departments and outside agencies; extensive understanding of Métis culture and the employment and training needs of the Métis within Saskatchewan.
