Safeway Canmore is seeking a part-time or full-time Clerk to join our Deli HMR department. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, preparing hot and ready-to-serve meals, sandwiches, flatbreads, pizzas, shaved and cut deli meats, cheeses, and party platters; rotating products, culling for freshness, and providing outstanding customer service. No previous experience required.

• Uphold company procedures, standards, and policies
• Greet customers politely and friendly
• Demonstrate excellent customer service
• Process payments via cash, cheque, credit/debit cards, and gift cards
• Offer samples to customers
• Prepare hot and cold foods, including sandwiches, salads, and specialty trays
• Use commercial equipment such as slicers, fryers, and ovens
• Write product orders, receive, and rotate products, and fill showcases

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
• Motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused
• Clear communication skills
• Work safely and responsibly
• Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of meat cuts is an asset
• Availability to work on Sundays (Alberta only)

• Frequent standing, reaching, gripping, bending, walking, twisting, pushing, and pulling
• Constant lifting of up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Frequent use of computers and point-of-sale systems
• Exposure to heat and cooking exhaust
