What You\'ll Do
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational / product manuals;
  • Racking up panels, running wiring / cabling, installing devices and conduit;
  • Working with Emergency Lighting, and Monitoring Systems;
  • Evaluating plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
  • Trouble shooting - conducting investigations of various fire alarm, fire suppression and sprinkler systems troubles and concerns;
  • Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
  • Supporting take offs and preparing proposals / quotations as required;
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed; safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job;
  • Mentoring other team members including apprentices and field service labour; and
  • Participating in 24 / 7 on-call / call out emergency service.
  • Participating in cross-training for fire extinguisher servicing to enhance capabilities and support broader shop operations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of field experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems across various industries
  • Education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology would be an asset
  • Applicable fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and / or valid CFAA and ASTTBC would be preferred.
  • Completed training in various fire alarm systems (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards and Notifier) would be an asset.
  • A valid Drivers License
  • NOTE : All combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • NOTE : Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Drivers abstract.

Ce que vous ferez
  • Lire et interpréter les plans, schémas, spécifications, schémas techniques et les manuels d\'utilisation / de produit
  • Installer des panneaux, poser des câbles, installer des appareils et des conduits
  • Travailler avec les systèmes d\'éclairage de secours et de surveillance
  • Évaluer les plans, les demandes des clients, les codes et les problèmes de non-conformité afin de déterminer des solutions et des recommandations spécifiques pour les clients et la direction
  • Dépannage - mener des enquêtes sur divers problèmes et préoccupations liés aux systèmes d\'alarme incendie, d\'extinction d\'incendie et de sprinklers
  • Préparer les stocks de matériaux pour l\'exécution quotidienne des bons de travail attribués et optimiser l\'utilisation des matériaux
  • Soutenir les décollages et préparer des propositions / devis selon les besoins
  • Remplir les rapports quotidiens sur les bons de travail et les activités terminées
  • Veiller à ce que les pratiques de travail sécuritaires soient respectées et que le leadership en matière de sécurité soit démontré dans tous les aspects du travail
  • Encadrer les autres membres de l\'équipe, y compris les apprentis et les travailleurs sur le terrain
  • Participer au service d\'urgence 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7
  • Participer à la formation croisée pour le service des extincteurs afin d\'améliorer les capacités et soutenir les opérations du magasin
