Mantel is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a promising startup focused on carbon capture, working on developing molten salts as a novel CO2 sorbent material. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with Mantel’s engineers and partner EPCs to design, build, commission, and operate Mantel’s first demonstration system. Responsibilities include working on piping, rotating equipment, steam systems, boilers, and validating equipment and materials to support demonstration plant scale-up and transition to commercial systems. The role also involves performing analysis, calculations, modeling, equipment specification, component sizing, data sheet review, creating and optimizing startup/shutdown procedures, and coordinating across disciplines with Mantel’s R&D team. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, versatile technical problem solver who can think creatively and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
