The Buyer Growth team is responsible for driving top-of-funnel growth and first-time buyer success. We seek a Machine Learning Engineer to accelerate buyer growth through intelligent, data-driven experiences. You will build and own ML models for personalization in onboarding and user targeting across acquisition and engagement channels, directly impacting buyer base growth and user conversion.

1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of ML models for user acquisition, activation, and retention (e.g., ranking models, targeting systems).
2. Manage the full model lifecycle: data collection, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, and experimentation.
3. Identify high-impact opportunities for machine learning to unlock growth, collaborating with product, engineering, data, and marketing teams.
4. Establish ML best practices and drive technical excellence within the team.

US-Based: Candidates must be within commuting distance of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or New York hubs.

Ideal candidates exhibit a growth mindset, low ego, and a proactive approach to high-impact work.

• 8+ years of experience building and deploying scalable ML systems.
• Proven success in leading end-to-end ML projects with measurable business outcomes.
• Expertise in personalization, ranking, or user modeling, with strong intuition about user behavior.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or XGBoost.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: Experience in e-commerce or social products, growth domains like segmentation and recommendation systems.

Salary: $235,000 to $270,000/year plus benefits and equity. Final salary depends on experience, skills, and level.
