Job summary

Brock University is seeking an instructor for the MPHA 5P07: Microbiology in Infection Prevention and Control course. Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, grading.
  • Teach courses in the area of microbiology and infection prevention.

MPHA 5P07: Microbiology in Infection Prevention and Control

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position have changed since it was last posted.

1. A graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in health sciences, infectious disease, immunology, microbiology, or a public health field with infection prevention and control expertise.

2. Current CIC certification from The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.

3. 5 years of working experience in Infection Prevention & Control in Healthcare settings preferred.

4. Successful completion of IPAC professional development certification course.

5. Previous teaching experience in an MPH program or an appropriate area at the University level.

6. Previous experience teaching online graduate level public health courses in infection prevention and control preferred.

7. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations) preferred.
