Job description
The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Endocrinology Laboratory, the Phlebotomist has the primary responsibility of collecting blood samples from our patients and to assist with preparation of samples, as needed.

This role has no direct reports, but provides assistance to the HFC's multidisciplinary team, including HFC's diverse team of professionals and other roles.

Details of Role
  • Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract – 4 months in duration (January-April)
  • Expected Compensation - $22.5/hour

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Hannam Fertility Centre.

Job Duties (including, but not limited to)
  • Complete blood sample collection
  • Process and prepare samples for send out testing
  • Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies
  • Other duties that support the endocrinology team as assigned
Qualifications
  • MLPAO Certification or CSMLS MLA Certification
  • Three to five years of phlebotomy experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Superior patient service skills
  • Confidentiality and professional demeanor required
  • Self‑motivated with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision (Successful candidate will work independently without supervision on weekends)

The Centre
  • General laboratory conditions within busy clinic
  • Clinic hours: 7 AM – 3 PM (Sunday – Saturday)
    • Schedule of Phlebotomist role: 6:30 AM-2:30 PM
