What you’ll be doing

The Compliance and EAML Examinations Program (CEEP) is a global examinations team that carries out Regulatory Compliance and ML/TF Examinations of LOBs and functional groups. The role operates under the Global Methodology, Programs and Strategy (GMPS) Team. GMPS is responsible for supporting the EAML and Compliance Examination teams through the development, implementation, maintenance and governance of the examination program, tools/templates, annual examination schedule, training and management reporting. The Director, Deficiency Validation Center of Competency (DVCC) is responsible for ensuring that deficiencies identified by CEEP are remediated effectively, thereby strengthening CIBC’s regulatory compliance and EAML control environment. Through rigorous review of management’s remediation activities, DVCC validates that compliance with regulatory requirements and CIBC policies are restored and sustained. As the Director, you will design and execute a framework and plan that will be used by the team to complete validation of deficiencies issued by CEEP resulting in an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of management’s remediation. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships with deficiency owners, internal partners within CEEP and across the three lines of defense where applicable. You will communicate regularly on progress and issues to ensure timely execution of teams deliverables and at a high level of quality and compliance with CEEP methodology and procedures.

  • Reporting: You will drive the development of deficiency remediation closure memos where you objectively assess the adequacy of management remediation activities and their potential impact on the business and to the CIBC Group of Companies while presenting them in a clear, concise and professional way.

  • Innovation: You will exercise strategic vision to drive innovation and process enhancements pertaining to CEEP Deficiency Validation Center of Competency.
