- Evaluate risks, assess supply market trends, and develop reports and recommendations to management.
- Research and provide input into sourcing strategies and tender processes.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and optimize costs by leveraging the company’s buying power.
- Source and purchase specialized equipment, materials, and business services to support wholesale distribution operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers (domestic and international) to ensure compliance, timely delivery, and quality assurance.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers and recommend contract awards.
- Establish delivery schedules, monitor logistics progress, and resolve supply chain issues with vendors and clients.
- Respond to internal customer inquiries, clarify requirements, and provide procurement support across business units.
- Ensure procurement practices comply with Canadian trade regulations and industry standards.
- Completion of a college diploma or apprenticeship program, or relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain operations is required.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with international trade, logistics, and import/export compliance is an asset.
