Jobbeschreibung

Wisedocs is a rapidly growing venture-backed AI platform transforming how companies in the insurance industry analyze claims. We’ve raised ~$20 M USD from top investors, support 100+ team members globally, serve 90+ customers across North America and Australia, and are doubling revenue every year.

Our mission is clear: make it simple and accessible for any organization in the insurance to automate what used to take hours of manual work and surface the insights that matter.

Built by founders who’ve experienced the claims process themselves, Wisedocs combines deep domain experience with next-gen AI. Our models are trained on 100 million+ documents, and our platform turns chaotic record-stacks into clean, structured timelines, summaries and defensible outputs, with built in expert human oversight (human in the loop).

You’ll join a mission-driven team that values innovation, collaboration and meaningful impact, where every day you’re helping organizations cut through complexity, make smarter decisions faster, and ultimately support people in claims journeys who often count on us when it matters most.

If you’re excited about building intelligent products, shaping workflows at scale, and being part of a high-growth company that’s rewriting the rules of document analytics in regulated industries, come join us at Wisedocs.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior VP of Finance will play a critical role in the strategic management and financial oversight of the organization. You will be the first, full time, senior finance leader at Wisedocs and joining at an exciting time. As the Senior VP of Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the company’s financial strategy and operations during a period of rapid growth and scaling. You will oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, fundraising, cash flow management, budgeting, accounting, compliance, and risk management.

We’re looking for someone that has experience scaling a venture backed business from Series A/B or later, and understands the velocity, flexibility, and grit required at this stage of growth.

In this role you will balance high-level strategic thinking with hands‑on execution—building financial infrastructure, managing investor relationships, and ensuring financial discipline across the organization. You will work closely with the CEO, founders, and board to align financial performance with long‑term business goals, support fundraising efforts (venture capital, debt financing, etc.), and help guide the company through key milestones such as Series B+ funding rounds, geographic expansion, and potential exit opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to guide company strategy and enable data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Own the company’s financial model and annual operating plan, collaborating across departments to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain and analyze key SaaS performance metrics to deliver timely insights on growth and retention.
  • Oversee quarterly Board and investor reporting, providing concise financial narratives that inform strategic direction.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling to support business initiatives, investment opportunities, and operational optimization.
  • Operational Finance, Accounting & Audit
  • Oversee global accounting operations, including month‑end close, audits, and preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead responsibility accounting frameworks and cost center management to drive accountability and efficient resource allocation across business units.
  • Manage treasury functions, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization.
  • Partner with our external auditor, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to domestic and international accounting and reporting standards.
  • Compliance, Legal and Tax
  • Collaborate with Legal on risk management, contract compliance, and corporate policy enforcement.
  • Manage and negotiate SaaS contracts, including vendor, customer, and partnership agreements, ensuring fiscal prudence, appropriate risk mitigation, and operational scalability.
  • Supervise corporate insurance programs and coordinate with brokers to ensure optimal coverage and compliance.
  • Revenue Enablement
  • Review and approve complex deals, providing financial and risk assessments to accelerate close cycles.
  • Support sales teams on custom pricing, renewal negotiations, and revenue recognition policies.
  • Compensation & Talent Partnership
  • Partner with HR and the COO to align financial planning with headcount and talent strategies.
  • Design and manage sales compensation, commission plans, and incentive frameworks tied to performance outcomes.
  • Oversee equity administration, collaborating with Legal and HR on cap table management, new grants, terminations, and annual valuations.
  • Provide leadership with insights on compensation trends to balance attraction, retention, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Investor Relations
  • Prepare quarterly investor materials, capital plans, and due diligence packages to support ongoing communication and funding initiatives.
  • Oversee corporate capitalization strategy, including management of the cap table, option grants, and 409A valuations.
  • Play a key role in future fundraising activities, from financial modeling to investor engagement and transaction execution.
  • Leadership & Systems Enablement
  • Build and mentor a high‑performing Finance organization.
  • Champion continuous improvement of financial systems and infrastructure, including ERP, CRM, billing, and CLM/CPQ tools, to support operational scalability.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to strengthen financial governance, business intelligence, and strategic execution as the company expands globally.
Qualifications
  • University degree coupled with a CPA/CA designation. MBA an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Senior Finance Leader.
  • In‑depth knowledge of audit standards and account.
  • Experience presenting financial information to Executive Management and a Board of Directors.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Require a familiarity with the various activities and by‑laws of the organization and of the precedents in various areas such as fee determination and relations to members.
  • A well‑defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Strong leadership presence with a track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance or VP‑level role within a SaaS, technology, or high‑growth startup environment.
  • Proven track record of managing end‑to‑end finance functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience with international finance operations, including multi‑entity consolidations, cross‑border taxation, and global compliance frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing and overseeing responsibility accounting systems, cost center reporting, and budget accountability structures.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, NRR, etc.) and how to operationalize them into decision‑making.
  • Prior experience leading or supporting fundraising, investor relations, and due diligence processes.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Legal, and Operations to manage SaaS contracts, pricing models, and deal structuring.
  • Background managing financial system implementations (ERP, billing, CRM, CLM, or CPQ platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or Workday).
What we offer
  • Flexible hybrid environment with the option to collaborate in‑person at our Toronto HQ.
  • Modern employee benefits, including health and dental coverage.
  • Competitive compensation, with valuable stock options, as we’re still a young company growing very quickly.
  • An opportunity to develop very rapidly in your career. We can offer you a super‑immersive learning environment, and when you thrive there, you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop this opportunity into senior practitioner or management opportunities as you choose.
  • Access to a learning and professional development fund to help you level up your career while you’re working with us. We hope to be an incredible step up in your career if you decide to come and work with us.
  • Company events.

  • Employee Referral Bonus.
  • Tuition Assistance.
  • Plus, many other Recognition Programs!
