Job summary
A healthcare provider in Newmarket, Ontario, is seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to provide essential speech, language, and swallowing services. You will work under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, assisting in patient assessment and therapy while monitoring progress. This role offers the opportunity to treat patients with various conditions, making a meaningful impact in their recovery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver speech, language and swallowing services under supervision.
- Support assessment and therapy planning in patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and document outcomes.
The Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) provides speech, language and swallowing services to acute, rehab or complex care patients under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist, in one-on-one and group settings. The CDA will treat patients with conditions which may include frailty, tracheostomy, stroke and other neurological disorders.
- Deliver speech, language and swallowing services under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Support assessment and therapy planning and participate in patient care as directed by clinical supervision.
- Monitor patient progress and document outcomes in accordance with clinic and regulatory requirements.
