Job summary
A retail grocery store in the Metro Vancouver area is seeking a manager to supervise staff and handle store operations, including training new employees and resolving customer issues. Candidates must have a Secondary school graduation certificate and some prior experience. This position is permanent and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff including apprentices and design teams.
- Hire and train staff.
- Resolve customer complaints and supply shortages.
Education
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
- Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
- Authorize payments by cheque
- Order merchandise
- Authorize return of merchandise
- Establish work schedules
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
- Conduct performance reviews
- Supervise office and volunteer staff
