Responsibilities

  • Lead with a hands‑on approach to oversee insurance operations across multiple locations, nurturing teams in underwriting and claims.
  • Build, refine, and implement operational frameworks and processes that drive efficiency and quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leaders, especiallyCEO, to develop strategic plans that align with growth goals.
  • Cultivate trust and high integrity within your teams by mentoring, supporting, and empowering team members across departments and geographies.
  • Create and execute a strategic 90‑day plan to facilitate smooth transitions, address challenges, and implement lasting change.
  • Support ongoing projects, including innovative approaches to coverage calculations and performance tracking, ensuring practical, results‑oriented outcomes.
  • Establish and lead effective reporting structures, managing remote and hybrid teams with trust and transparency at the forefront.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience within the insurance industry, with a strong background in claims, underwriting, or risk management — ideally with an underwriting specialty.
  • Proven success in building teams, driving operational improvements, and leading through change with integrity and transparency.
  • Hands‑on leadership style, comfortable working directly with teams and managing complex projects.
  • Exceptional communication and mentoring skills, with a natural ability to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Experience developing operational strategies, frameworks, and efficiency initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Waldheim and Saskatoonlocations to support team cohesion and leadership impact.
