Volunteer Responder - Mental Health and Addictions Access Line

Distress Centre Niagara offers a free, confidential 24/7 mental health and addiction access line for residents of the Niagara region. The volunteer responder program is the first point of access for 16+ residents seeking help.

Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate support to callers and help them explore suitable services.
  • Gather caller information with consent and connect them to appropriate resources.
  • Complete a minimum of 48 hours of volunteer support before program training.
Commitment

This is an in‑person volunteer position. Hours are completed at our discreet location. The program is ongoing and year‑round.
