  • Ensuring compliance with employment standards and internal policies.
  • Managing vacation, sick time, statutory holiday tracking.
  • Supporting year-end payroll functions like T4s, ROEs.
  • Liaising with finance and HR teams as required.

This in-office role, based in Calgary, offers approximately 24 hours per week with room to grow as the organization and payroll department continue to expand. This is a newly added position that will complement an established payroll team, with responsibilities spanning both unionized and U.S. payroll.

In this role you’ll take ownership of full‑cycle payroll, making this an ideal fit for someone who values autonomy, consistency, and having a clear, meaningful impact. Your accuracy, timeliness, and discretion will be essential throughout every stage of the payroll process.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Running full‑cycle, weekly payroll for 75-100 staff members
  • Reconciling payroll‑related accounts and preparing reports as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with employment standards and internal policies
  • Managing vacation, sick time, statutory holiday tracking, and adjustments
  • Supporting year‑end payroll functions (T4s, ROEs, etc.)
  • Liaising with the finance and HR teams as required
Qualifications
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certificate considered an asset
  • Knowledge of various payroll software/platforms, UKG an asset
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in U.S Payroll is required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with unionized payroll is required

Base Salary

$30.00 – $35.00 per hour

  • Wage based on experience and qualifications
  • Employees are payrolled weekly via direct deposit.
Work Hours
  • Part time – 24 hours/week
  • 8:00AM – 4:30PM (Flex)
  • 3 days a week
Additional Notes
  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
