Overview

University Navigator – Office of the Registrar, Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) Campus. Full-Time position, wage range $37.90 - $45.13 hourly, based on 75 hours bi-weekly. Employment Opportunity Number: 25.28. Closing date: July 29, 2025.

The University Navigator is a new role designed to help Yukon University implement its Strategic Enrolment Management Plan. The successful candidate will lead new initiatives and positively shape the admissions process, requiring adaptability, resilience, and a focus on continuous improvement. The role involves providing enrolment and general academic information to prospective Yukon University students and advising on programs, admission requirements, application processes, potential employment and career options, financial aid options (including Yukon First Nation funding options), graduation requirements, and opportunities for transfer to other post-secondary institutions. This position supports building rapport with diverse stakeholders across the institution.

Responsibilities
  • Assist prospective students with the application process via phone, email, and in-person consultations; provide detailed information on programs, admission requirements, and financial aid; assess qualifications and ensure documentation is submitted.
  • Help current and prospective students navigate complex inquiries, collaborate with internal teams for timely follow-ups, and maintain accurate records in the enrolment management system in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Recruit new students and promote Yukon University through outreach events, workshops, and community engagement; contribute to projects related to the Strategic Enrolment Management Plan.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in admissions, enrollment, or a customer-oriented role, preferably in the education sector; familiarity with financial aid processes and a track record of meeting or exceeding enrolment goals preferred.
Technical Skills and Tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software; able to leverage technology for effective communication and engagement with prospective students.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and other technology tools to manage enrolment processes.
