Job Overview
Reporting to the Design Manager, as the Truss Designer you will prepare truss layouts, designs and estimates for various building projects.
Responsibilities
- Structural design and providing estimates for roof and / or floor truss systems as well as Engineered Wood Product (I-joists, LVL) floor systems and individual components according to specifications and requirements.
- Implementing design changes and communicating with other related departments to ensure designs & estimates are accurate.
- Promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with Qualico’s Safety Program, policies and procedures.
- Providing technical support to customers when required.
- Providing support to other projects or duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements
- Post-secondary education, experience or technical training courses in Architecture, Engineering or Drafting.
- Truss or building component design experience is considered an asset, training can be provided.
- Experience with Mitek truss design software is an asset, training can be provided.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint and Excel).

Working Conditions
You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may be required.
