Job Summary

The College of New Caledonia is looking for part-time instructors to teach in the Trades Discovery Program.

Skills & Qualifications
  • An Interprovincial Trades Qualification is preferred but not required
  • Three years of experience working in the construction industry, specifically Carpentry, Electrical, Welding and/or Plumbing or Pipefitting.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are current in the trade and who have recent proven teaching and/or supervisory experience.
  • The successful candidate should be able to deal effectively with students on an individual or group basis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams) is required.
  • Completion of the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program ( PIDP ) would be considered an asset.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices and will foster a safety-first culture with students and in the CNC community.
  • You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
  • Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
Salary

$66.42 - $73.58. Commensurates with qualifications and relevant experience.
