Job Title: Trade Educational Consultant (E-learning & LMS Designer Red Seal Expert)

Location: Canada-based preferred. Contract or Full-Time

About the Role: Brighter Training ACADEMY, a leading institution committed to excellence in skilled trades education, seeks a dynamic and experienced Trade Educational Consultant to lead the design and development of innovative industry-relevant online learning solutions. This role requires a unique blend of Red Seal expertise, curriculum development, and e-learning / LMS design experience. The goal is to provide enough study training material and content to anyone preparing for any Red Seal Certification. The role shapes accessible and engaging online training programs that align with Red Seal standards and best practices in vocational education. This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of trade expertise, instructional design, and digital learning innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Design & Development
    • Develop and structure high-quality training content for skilled trades programs (Red Seal-focused).
    • Align curriculum with provincial and national Red Seal standards.
    • Create engaging course materials, assessments, and simulations.
  • E-learning & LMS Implementation
    • Design, build, and manage courses within Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle, TalentLMS, D2L).
    • Integrate multimedia elements, SCORM-compliant modules, quizzes, and hands-on digital assessments.
    • Ensure content accessibility, usability, and learner engagement across devices.
  • Consultation & Quality Assurance
    • Provide expert guidance on training strategies, learner pathways, and instructional improvements.
    • Conduct needs assessments with stakeholders including industry partners and academic advisors.
    • Review and revise existing training materials for relevancy and pedagogical effectiveness.
  • Project Leadership & Collaboration
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, graphic designers, and developers.
    • Lead or support pilot projects and implementation of new training platforms or updates.
    • Maintain documentation and project timelines with a strong attention to detail.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Certified Red Seal Journeyperson in a designated trade (mandatory).
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in instructional design or vocational education.
  • Proven experience designing online training using LMS platforms and authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Rise, Camtasia).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, competency-based training, and performance-based assessment.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Post-secondary credentials in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field (asset).
