Responsibilities

Tasks

Clean work area

Organize and maintain inventory

Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications

Check proper thickness of plating using micrometers, callipers or other devices

Clean and maintain equipment

Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts

Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specifications

Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings

Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat

Job Duties:

  • Comprehension of component routing documents, engineering drawings and specifications, OEM repair schemes, and internal process documentation.
  • Preparation of components for thermal spray application, including cleaning, glass bead blasting, grit blasting and masking, in accordance with company procedures and utilizing various machines and techniques.
  • Safe handling and operation of combustible gases, a six-axis robotic arm, toxic materials and various equipment.
  • Preparation of components for thermal spray application, including cleaning, glass bead blasting, grit blasting and masking, in accordance with company procedures and utilizing various machines and techniques.
  • Use of measuring equipment, including calipers, height gauges and micrometers.
  • Removal of masking and overspray from processed thermal spray components using various hand tools.
  • Visual inspection of thermal spray coatings to ensure compliance with company and OEM specifications.
  • Completion of corrective and regular preventative maintenance on various equipment.
  • Monitor all inventory in the Thermal Spray department, including ordering of process consumables and replacement parts for equipment.
  • Assist in writing and revision of process programs utilizing a teach pendant and the integrated FANUC teach pendant programming language, as per TCT Programmers instructions.
  • Assist in development of new repair capabilities within the thermal spray process, including new component repairs and new thermal spray coatings, as per TCT Engineering instructions.
  • Troubleshooting and revision of various thermal spray parameters to achieve and maintain optimum coating quality.
  • Assist in development of new fixturing, masking and tooling as necessary to improve/maintain efficiency and quality in the thermal spray process, as per TCT Engineering instructions.
