We are actively seeking a Test Engineer (1 year contract) to join our Cambridge, ON team.

Job Purpose

Provide support to heat exchanger project for design, fabrication processes and vessel qualification to support new product design.

Responsibilities
  • Project and Design Engineering:
    • Prepare technical specifications for sublet activities under supervision of other Project engineers.
    • Review and acceptance of the customer technical requirements on behalf of Component Engineering.
    • Complete engineering deliverables for the assigned project in accordance with technical requirements, schedule and assigned budget (manhours and dollars, as applicable), with support from Graphics, Design Engineering and Materials Engineering for non-complex projects.
    • Prepare Test Requirements and Test Specification Documents to support heat exchanger design, qualification and fabrication processes.
    • Technical evaluations of quotations from Vendors (Test Facilities) for compliance with specifications.
    • Work with analysts to produce pre-test predictions.
    • Review Vendor documentation and oversee test planning and execution.
    • Requisition materials and work with Manufacturing for in-house testing.
    • Review test reports and prepare summary reports.
    • Work with Customer to obtain approval of test plans and documents.
    • Interfacing with outside organizations (customer, vendor, regulatory organizations and standards) to achieve the project technical requirements.
    • Assist with design activities and other Projecting engineering responsibilities related to the design of non-complex nuclear components (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, etc.).
    • Travel to vendor facility as required.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel Codes Section III and Section VIII.
  • Experience with test planning, test requirements and testing review.
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works or other 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Pressure Vessel fabrication practices.
  • Knowledge of FEA and ASME Section III stress analysis is beneficial.
  • Generally 5+ years of working experience; could be more if background in different industry.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. The base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. The total compensation package may include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at offer of employment.
