A leading aquaculture company in Murray River, PEI, is seeking Temporary Hatchery Technicians for a 6–8 week role starting Mid October 2025. Candidates will assist in spawning seasons and other hatchery duties like feeding and routine maintenance. Ideal candidates should possess relevant education, communication skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. The role offers $18.00 per hour with overtime after 48 hours.

Overview

Attention all job seekers!! We are now recruiting candidates for upcoming Temporary HatcheryTechnician positions at our Dover Fish Hatchery in Murray River, PEI. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Aquaculture industry, then come join our Freshwater Team at Mowi Canada East Inc.! These positions will be approximately 6 to 8 weeks in length with an anticipated start date of Mid October 2025.

In these temp roles you will work full time to assist with our spawning season and other Hatchery Technician duties including, feeding, grading/counting or measuring fish, mortality removal, site security, routine maintenance and clean up and daily checks and reporting.

What we are looking for

Our ideal candidates would be safety oriented and willing to work in a team environment. They would possess:

  • Related post-secondary education and/or experience within the industry would be considered an asset
  • Well-developed English verbal and written communication
  • Physical ability to complete repetitive tasks
  • Respect for the need for safe working practices
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and effectively indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to work 8 to 12 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada immediately
