Job summary

A governmental organization in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to perform various repairs and maintenance on telecommunications equipment. The role requires a secondary school graduation certificate and approximately 1 to 2 years of experience in the field. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment faults, installing cable modems, and inspecting system operations.   • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
  • Analyze test results and adjust or repair switching systems.
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports.
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble.
  • Install cable modems and software for Internet access.
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
