Job Summary

We are seeking a Technical Sales Specialist – Steam Engineering Solutions, to join our dynamic team at the Steam Specialty Sales Limited. In this role, you will play a critical role in delivering customized steam engineering solutions to Steam Canada’s industrial, healthcare, and institutional clients. You will be responsible for technical sales, client support, and system optimization, ensuring that clients’ steam and energy systems operate with maximum efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

In this role, you will also provide ongoing technical support, training, and commissioning services, while contributing to business development and long-term client relationships.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining sales relationships with existing clients, and identifying and soliciting new opportunities across industrial, healthcare, and institutional sectors.
  • Conducting site assessments to evaluate client needs and proposing technical solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, uptime, and safety.
  • Actively supporting clients in energy conservation initiatives and steam system optimization, including auditing, diagnostics, and retrofit solutions.
  • Recommending sustainable technical improvements tailored to client needs, focusing on carbon footprint reduction and compliance with environmental standards.
  • Providing consultation on the selection, commissioning, and operation of control valves and steam-related instrumentation.
  • Preparing and delivering customized sales proposals and materials illustrating the benefits of steam and energy solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing strategies to reduce energy waste and improve process efficiency in steam applications.
  • Providing hands‑on support during commissioning, troubleshooting, and post‑installation optimization.
  • Conducting training sessions for end users and maintenance teams on energy‑efficient practices and system operation.
  • Collaborating with product, R&D, and marketing teams to provide input into application specific offerings.
  • Maintaining detailed customer records, preparing forecasts, and contributing to business planning through accurate reporting and CRM updates.
  • Representing the company at industry trade shows, technical seminars, and sustainability forums to promote solutions and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Monitoring and reporting on competitor activity, emerging trends, and market potential to support sales strategies.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales or consulting in steam systems or thermal/process engineering.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated success in working with Food & Beverage, Dairy, Pharma, Paper, Brewery, and public infrastructure (hospitals/universities).
  • Technical proficiency in steam systems, control valves, instrumentation, and commissioning services.
  • Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, carbon reduction strategies, and sustainability goals.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Ontario.
