A local school district is seeking a District Itinerant Teacher for the Hearing Impaired to provide essential services in both regular and alternate classrooms. The role involves collaborating with classroom teachers, managing IEPs, and supporting students with exceptional needs. Candidates should hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and have specialization in Deaf education. A competitive salary ranging from $61,175 to $109,520 is offered along with benefits.

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2025, and continuing
The DRTHH assists the District Principal of Inclusive Education in providing services to students and staff in the regular classroom as well as alternate environments and must be able to work in a collaborative and consultative manner with classroom teachers, principals, the school-based team, special education assistants and others.
Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch AND possesses one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: A District Resource Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has a valid teaching certificate with a Master’s degree or Diploma in Education of the deaf and hard of hearing. They also are eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Educators for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CAEDHH).
Related Teaching Experience:
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff

The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
