HireNow Staffing is working on behalf of a long-established public accounting firm with deep roots across the Greater Hamilton and Niagara regions. We are searching for an experienced Tax Manager ready to step into a highly visible leadership role that blends hands-on tax expertise with strategic advisory support for a diverse client portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and review the preparation of personal, corporate, trust, estate, and partnership tax returns
  • Provide strategic tax planning services to privately held businesses, individuals, and family-owned enterprises
  • Guide corporate reorganizations, succession planning efforts, and tax implications of M&A transactions
  • Act as a technical resource for tax updates, foreign reporting obligations, and CRA correspondence
  • Participate in client meetings, deliver customized tax solutions, and identify new advisory opportunities
  • Mentor and manage a team of 8 professionals, offering guidance on workflow, deadlines, and career development
  • Collaborate across departments and locations to ensure tax compliance and advisory services are delivered with excellence
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years in public practice, with at least 2 years focused on tax
  • Enrolled in or willing to pursue the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or Master of Taxation (MTax)
  • Advanced understanding of Canadian tax law and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with cross-border and foreign reporting requirements
  • Previous experience working on M&A tax structures, family trust strategies, or corporate succession plans
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing client relationships and developing junior staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in client-friendly terms
  • Experience working with the CRA and provincial tax authorities is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 CAD (commensurate with experience)
