Ocean Capital has an immediate opening for a Tax Analyst. The opportunity involves working independently, and with other members of the tax team, to support management teams for the various companies in our group, which spans multiple industries and geographies.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Preparing and filing tax returns (corporate, partnership and trust).
  • Preparing year-end tax accounting entries and tax related notes to the financial statements.
  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual HST returns.
  • Preparing and filing T5 returns.
  • Working with corporate controllers across the group of companies to establish and revise as required, appropriate monthly income tax installments.
  • Contribute to tax planning and analysis.
  • Contribute to the evolution of processes and technologies.
  • Trust return preparation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in accounting or tax, with relevant educational experience.
  • CPA designation would be an asset, but not required.
  • Previous experience preparing corporate tax returns.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the confidential nature of the position.
