At BFP, we are committed to delivering quality products to every customer. Our Oakville facility’s product line includes the custom design and builds of hydraulic power units, hydraulic manifolds, multidiscipline projects, pneumatic panels, control panels, valve stands, and wire harnesses.

The hiring BFP location in Oakville is an industry leading build-to-order manufacturer of custom Hydraulic and Pneumatic solutions for various industrial and mobile applications. We are currently looking for a Systems Shipper/Receiver to join our team. The Systems Shipper/Receiver acts as the central hub connecting warehousing and shop assembly operations to ensure accurate inventory management and cut inefficiencies from material handling.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, staying organized, moving throughout the shop, and supporting production by ensuring parts, materials, and assemblies are always where they need to be.

Reports to: Shop Foreman.

Works in collaboration with: Shop Foreman, Production Planner, Production Coordinator, Logistics Service Providers, all shop staff and all warehouse staff.

Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

Location: This position will be in Markham until April 2026 when the shop will relocate to Oakville

Duties and Essential Job Functions
  • Safely carry out all duties assigned to ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Directly responsible for any product being received into assembly or shipping out of assembly, from external supplier or warehousing, and accurate inventory control.
  • Receive product from warehousing in the internal company business system.
  • Deliver staged product to the assembly work station where it is required.
  • Circulate the assembly shop daily collecting unused or excess products and return back to inventory.
  • Conduct a quarterly inventory count on all raw stock, hose, tubing, and piping.
  • Crate or wrap projects as needed in preparation for shipping.
  • Maintain forklift, pump trucks, and other equipment in safe and good working order.
  • Collaborate with and proactively communicate with production planner, production coordinator, purchasing, shop staff and management to ensure projects meet required delivery dates per the production schedule.
  • Proactively communicate any supplier issues with production planner.
  • Conduct a visual quality assessment on all received fabrications prior to assembly using engineered fabrication drawings to identify any obvious deviations before assembly begins (not a full QC role).
  • Support with light mechanical assembly tasks as needed and as assigned.
  • Drive the ride on floor cleaner daily between responsibilities ensuring a clean environment and visually confirming inventory levels, product to be returned to inventory, and confirm correctly staged product.
  • Remove cardboard and wooden skids/crates from the shop.
  • Implementation, maintenance and sustain 5S initiatives in the shop and/or office.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and work safely around moving equipment.
  • Mechanical, assembly, industrial, shipping/receiving experience.
  • Must be licensed to drive a forklift and operate an overhead crane.
  • Excellent English communication skills, problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording and handling inventory.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using manual tools and power tools.
  • Fluid Power training (or equivalent experience) is an asset.
