A regional health authority in Canada seeks an experienced Systems Designer to define system configurations supporting strategic goals. The role involves collaboration with business analysts and developers, requiring a strong background in software development and knowledge of the Cerner Millennium system. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and at least 7 years of development experience, including 3 years with the Cerner system. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for success.

The Systems Designer is a key member of the Systems Development team and is responsible for working within the Island Health enterprise architecture and software development methodologies to define a system configuration that supports solution requirements intended to support the organizations strategic goals.
The Systems Designer works closely with the solution business analysts, designers and developers to ensure that business requirements are fully supported by the system and align with the overall seamless nature of the regions business undertakings across disparate vendor or custom solutions.
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in computer science or health information science and a minimum of 7 years' experience as a software developer with a minimum of three years' experience with the Cerner Millennium system. Master's degree preferred.
A grounding in software development methodologies and a strong understanding of the Cerner Millennium system. Additional training/certifications in business processing including BPM and Lean, architecture methodologies, ITIL, software development, CMMI, project management (PMI, Prince), health informatics (CPHIMS-CA) is desirable.
