Overview

As part of the Cybersecurity team, the Supply Chain Security Analyst (IT Specialist I-IV) is responsible for assessing cybersecurity weaknesses in NB Power’s supply chain operations, advising and reporting on threats and weaknesses, and supporting in the development and implementation of cybersecurity countermeasures. This position will be responsible for development of vendor security ratings, development of relevant controls, and contribute to internal and external compliance activities.

Key functions
  • Oversight and Governance – leads and coordinates the third-party security risk program. This includes program management, security control assessment, technology program auditing, and advising on cybersecurity compliance matters.
  • Threat Analysis – collects, processes, analyze, and disseminates threat assessments related to NB power suppliers.
  • Data Analysis – analyzes data from diverse sources to generate actionable cybersecurity and privacy insights. Manages supplier risk data within a Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) system by collecting, analyzing, and evaluating information to produce insights that support risk assessments, strategic recommendations, and informed decision-making.
  • Design and Development Support – conducts research and audits to support design and development across perimeter and cloud networks. Provides expert input on third-party security audits, evaluates vendor solutions and associated risks, participates in design and review sessions, and offers strategic security guidance for both new and existing technologies and vendors.
Qualifications
  • bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Advanced Systems Management, Information Systems Security or Internetworking. Those with a Diploma will require an additional two years of related experience.
  • Certifications in security auditing or controls such as CRISC, CISA, or AC-SCCP would be considered an asset.
  • One year of experience in security auditing, assessment, risk management or control development, with demonstrated experience in at least two of the following:
  • Risk assessment
  • Security architecture assessment
  • Security auditing
  • Security controls development
  • System life cycle management
  • Threat assessment
  • Vulnerability management
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and statistical methodologies to develop and maintain a vendor risk scoring model that supports risk assessment, vendor performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making, would be considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of training, certifications and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Name Check.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
