Job description
Supply Chain Manager -Aerospace Programs

The Supply Chain Manager would be the person responsible for the day-to-day actions of Supply Chain. The individual would be responsible for investigation/study of operational and logistics information provided by CDN JPO and other sources to create an implementable and efficient SCM program which is compliant with LMA/US JPO. This position would have 3 direct reports.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Responsible for all Inventories held at our warehouses.
  • Responsible of all Purchasing activities.
  • Responding for all Transportation activities.
  • Responsible for supply management activities in DRMIS and our inventory Management systems.
  • Personnel management of all Supply Chain personnel at our multiple locations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers.
  • Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met.
  • Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery.
  • Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analyzing performance.
  • Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality.
  • Manage and motivate a team of supply chain staff.
  • Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage and minimize the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
  • Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet sustainability targets.
  • Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector. Control vendor and delivery processes.
REQUIRED (Education, experience, knowledge, etc.)
  • 10 years DND Logistics experience at the Logistics Officer Level.
  • Must be able to understand and manage transactions in Canadian Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office at least at Intermittent Level.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing complex supply chain organizations in a military or defence environment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating under ITAR-controlled programs and compliance frameworks.
